Ρεκόρ που σχετίζεται με κωπηλασία, αλλά όχι με το... τυπικό σκάφος. Ο Αμερικανός Gary Kristensen διήνυσε απόσταση 73,5 χιλιομέτρων με σκάφος... κολοκύθα (pumpkin boat)!!! Με εκείνα και με τα άλλα έβαλε το όνομά του στο βιβλίο των ρεκόρ Γκίνες (Guinness World Records).

Δελτίο τύπου: «The longest journey by pumpkin boat (paddling) is 73.50 km (45.67 miles), and was achieved by Gary Kristensen (USA), in Oregon, USA, on 12 October 2024. Gary has grown giant pumpkins since 2011. In 2013, he carved his first boat-sized pumpkin to compete in the West Coast Giant Pumpkin Regatta.

In 2024, he finally grew a pumpkin large enough for this record attempt. The pumpkin, named "Punky Loafster", weighed an impressive 555.2 kilograms (1,224 pounds) kilograms before carving into a boat and had a circumference of 429.26 centimeters (169 inches).»
